I'm a simple Scottish girl with an unusual name and a strange obsession for nail polish! My aim is to capture what the eye sees, with a camera! Too much nail polish and never enough time. I have also started wildlife photography, which I enjoy very much. Welcome to my little world :-)

Essence Space Queen

This is the glitter I popped onto the last post :-)

This is easy to use, easy to apply and okay drying (2-3 minutes for a coat). The brush is really good and gives good coverage. It's a really pretty sparkly polish and looks good on the dark base! Lasted really well.

Bourjois Diner A Paris 37

This is okay to use and okay to apply. It's a very small bottle and the brush is tiny. At first it's quite hard to apply because it is quite difficult to get a lot of polish onto the brush. Once I discovered how to get lots on to the brush it made things easier for applying. To get plenty of polish onto the brush, just dip it in and out a few times. Drying was good (about 1.5 mins for a coat). From the bottle this polish looks brown but once applied it isn't! It's quite a pretty colour. Lasted well.

Essence Heart Explosion

Another of the new Essence polishes that I picked up last week!

This is easy to use, easy to apply and quick drying (about a minute for a coat). The brush is really good and the lid is comfortable to hold as well. This is slightly textured but not much. It's a pretty red colour with gold glitter. Lasted well.

Avon Turquoise Shimmer

This is easy to use, easy to apply and quick drying (less than a minute for a coat). It's a pretty colour, I really like it! I'm not quite sure what the bottle means when it says "nail top coat" as this can be used as a normal polish! Upon removal I noticed slight staining - nothing too bad though. Lasted really well.

Essence Hello Rosy

This is easy to use, easy to apply and quick drying (about 2 minutes for a coat). It has got a good brush and the lid is comfortable to hold. It's a pretty pink textured polish. Impressed with my first use of this brand. Lasted well.

These are currently available in Wilko stores and online too!

Seventeen Chalk Dots Nail Effects - Pink

This is easy to use, easy to apply and quick drying (less than a minute for each coat). It's a pretty speckled polish. I'd have to say that it doesn't really look pink in the bottle but does look more pink on the nails. I have one thing to say, I think it would be better with a top coat - I kept picking the little glittery bits DOH!!!! Lasted really well.

Pupa Sugar Candy R024

My friend was over from Italy for the week. We exchanged some nail polishes as gifts and this was one she gave me. She runs Nails Noob and you should totally check out her blog :-) I will be posting something about our time together soon.

This is easy to use, easy to apply and slow drying (about 3-4 minutes for a coat). The brush is really good and the lid is comfortable to hold. It's a pretty pale blue colour with white glitter. It is NOT textured - from the name I thought it would have been! Lasted really well.

Barry M Rhossili

This is one of the more recent Barry M matte polishes.

This is easy to use, easy to apply and okay drying (about 2 minutes for a coat), it did seem a little slower than other matte polishes I've used. It's a pretty colour and I like the finish. Lasted really well.

Sally Hansen Golden Tourmaline

Yet another sunny day in Scotland and another holo *gasp*!

This is easy to use, easy to apply and slow drying (about 4 minutes for a coat). It's also slightly smelly - not too bad though but it is noticeable! I didn't use the Aqua Base for this polish either. I think it's a stunning holo polish and it really comes to life in the sun! I really like this one! So pretty! Noticed some tip wear after a while, but lasted okay otherwise.

Rimmel Drop Of Sherry

To my knowledge, this is the oldest polish I own. I got it in the early 1990s. So it's about that old, I must have been about 10 or 11 years old when I got it - hehe clue to my age ;-)

This is easy to use, easy to apply and okay drying (about 3 minutes for a coat - not bad for an older polish). Considering the age, it's in good condition. Not gloopy or anything. I usually take good care of my polishes hehe! The colour is okay. It is funny how my tastes have changed over the years! Lasted really well.

Avon Absinthe

I purchased a few reduced Avon polishes from my Avon Rep the other week, this is the first I decided to try :-)

This is easy to use, easy to apply and quick drying (about 2 minutes for a coat). It's green with a lovely shimmer to it! It does sparkle in good light, but doesn't look that great in duller light. It is quite pretty though! Lasted okay.

Collection 2000 Siren

This is easy to use, easy to apply and okay drying (about 2 minutes for a coat). It had a subtle shimmer in the bottle but this doesn't really translate well on the nail. It's a nice pinky colour. Lasted well.

Angelica Spring Break

This is the glitter topper that I put on Deborah Lippmann's Makin' Whoopee!

This is easy to use, easy to apply and okay drying (about 4 minutes for a coat). You get really good coverage for 1 coat. It's a pretty glitter with all different colours and I think it looks good on the pinky! Lasted well.

W7 Blue Flakes

I decided to pop this on top of China Glaze's Queen B. Oh dear. :-|

Now this polish looks gorgeous in the bottle......but....... It's very hard to use, very hard to apply and really, really slow drying (I gave up timing after 10 minutes). It's really thick and awkward to apply the flakies evenly. It's also really hard to get the flakies onto the brush! I had to dip the brush in and out several times to get a good amount on the brush! It's a very clumsy polish. I ended up having to dab them on! I only photographed this so no idea if it lasted long. Nice idea but poor quality and hard to use :-( I've got a few other colours from this flakes range - I'm in no hurry to use them! Any advice on how to get a decent finish with this sort of polish?

W7 Moondust

This is easy to use, easy to apply and quick drying (about 2 minutes for a coat). I did notice this one was slightly smelly though :-( It's a nice glittery polish with lots of different colours. It's slightly rough so it could be classed as a sandy - well in my head anyway hehe! It's nice and it lasted well.
