About Me

My photo
Scotland
I'm a simple Scottish girl with an unusual name and a strange obsession for nail polish! My aim is to capture what the eye sees, with a camera! Too much nail polish and never enough time. I have also started wildlife photography, which I enjoy very much. Welcome to my little world :-)

Avon Sequined Turquoise

This one caused much excitement for me when I first bought it! And I've finally got around to wearing it - yah.

I was in love, for a short while anyway!

And with flash.
All above are 2 coats.

This is such an amazing colour. How good does it look?? Amazing! It's easy to use, easy to apply and the brush is pretty good. It's very quick drying to a good finish. It's gorgeous and very festive too. My only moan - it's a nightmare to remove, so be careful my fingers ended up greeny. Tin foil next time methinks.

7 out of 10. When I got it, I paid £2.50 for it but I think it's currently £6 *gasp*. Will probably rotate back to being under a £5 soon. From your rep or online.

Kleancolor 190 Green With Envy

Christmas nails time! I put two different colours over the previous post. A Kleancolor and an OPI (which you can see on the other blog :-p). This is a glittery green colour.

Nice!

Hehe how nice is that green :-)

This is easy to use, easy to apply and has a good brush. It's slow drying though. I found it easier to dab then paint, as I found I wasn't getting good coverage. It's very shiny and looks awesome on the black.

6 out of 10. Easy to pick from American sellers on eBay and Amazon.

Rimmel 800 Black Out

Goodness another Rimmel and another older one too! Jings. This time we have a bog standard black.

All above are 2 coats.

This was easy to use, easy to apply and the brush is good. It was fairly quick drying to a shiny finish. I'd say it's a fairly standard black, nothing really special about it. But I like it :-) and it's good quality for the price.

8 out of 10 for this. Easy enough to pick up from most places like supermarkets or chemists.

Rimmel 400 Starlet

This is a polish I picked up a good few years ago, but it's still available now. It's a pinky glittery polish.

Very shiny! All above are 2 coats and no top.

This is easy to use, easy to apply and like all Rimmel's has a good brush! It's fairly quick drying for an oldie. It's very sparkly and glittery and it's dried to a smooth finish. Lasted well and it's pretty.

7 out of 10 for this. Easy to pick up from various places!

Avon Change Artist Racy Reds

Oh my goodness it's Christmas Eve!!! Anyway on with the polish. I fancied the appeal of this one. Apparently you put the base colour on and then put the clear on top and it changes the original colour. Radical!

Without flash.

All above are of 1 coat! Just one!

This is easy to use, easy to apply and has a good brush. The lid makes it very easy to hold the brush. 1 coat gives good coverage and a good finish and it's quick drying (yippee). I'd say it's a coppery bronze colour, similar to Rimmel's Hot Flush, if you can recall that one!

I'd give it 7 out of 10.

Application of the Clear
Hehe see the little bit of colour at the bottom of the bottle!

Now apart from it being slightly shiny, I didn't really notice a difference at first! It did remind me of Deborah Lippmann's Brick House a wee bit.

Then in fairly dull light (and by pure chance I must confess) I noticed this wonder.

Now it certainly looks different! What a pretty shade of red.

I only used one coat and wasn't sure what I was doing. But at least I managed to get a different colour in the end. Like the base colour, this one easy to use, easy to apply, good brush and quick drying.

I'd also give this one 7 out of 10. Got it from eBay for about £3 including P+P. Gonna have to experiment more with it.

Barry M 1A Red Wine

Was right in the mood for more Barry M's after having the Lilac foil on. Lucky dip gave me this beauty :-)
How pretty.

Arty angles!

And with flash.
Oh bright! All are 2 coats.

I do love the Barry M polishes! It's an understatement to say they rock :-p This one is easy to use, easy to apply and the brush is excellent. 2 coats gave a very good and shiny finish. It is also quick drying and lasted well. No scuffing and no top coat! Gorgeous.

7 out of 10. Barry M official site and places that sell Barry M (Superdrug, Boots etc.).

Avon Arabian Glow Teal Waters

I have been after this one for a while and ended up getting it from eBay. How excited was I? Guess!
Minty green with subtle glitter (look hard and you shall see)!

And with flash.
Oh over exposed! All above are 3 coats.

This is easy to use and easy to apply. BUT be careful with the brush strokes! Despite being an older Avon, it's fairly quick drying to a nice finish. Lasted well. I think it's a lovely colour, really like this polish :-)

7 out of 10 for this one.

Kleancolor 181 Mix Signal

Time for another Kleancolor methinks! This time, a pretty glittery top coat, that I put on top of the previous post.

Holo-tastic!

All the above are of 1 coat.

Easy to use, easy to apply and slow drying! Nice and sparkly. This one rocks. Got a few good comments from girls with good taste ;-)

A sure 7 out of 10. Easy to pick up from eBay and the US Amazon.
